I ordered six pairs of socks for our Fourth of July hiking trip to snoqualmie. Two for me and my parents. The socks were incredible. We hiked through the muddiest trail and our feet were dry the entire 9 miles. I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of the socks and love that the designs are all local mountains. We’ve been recommending these socks to everyone we know ever since.
Let start by saying I am very particular about socks. Being a former outdoor footwear retailer, I've worked with and seen many, many different outdoor sock brands. Plus, as a lifelong hiker/backpacker/ultramarathoner/general outdoor enthusiast, I always seek out the very best gear so I can spend less time focusing on that and instead on the adventure at hand. I've lived religiously in Darn Tough socks for about 5 years now and have been wary to try out different brands. One of my friends suggested I give FTGU a try and I have been incredibly happy with their performance! These socks have become my go to for any and all runs, especially all my ultramarathon races. These socks have been put through **** and back: dunked in frozen rivers in winter while running, multi day expedition trips through very rugged backcountry, and the occasional dodgeball game or two. They perform to the highest level every time. I'm super happy with them. Despite the rough conditions, they are still holding up in great condition. Time will tell if they have the same staying power as some of my Darn Toughs do, but I have a feeling my FTGUs will!
